CORAL thanks all of you for your support in 2010. Your contributions have helped us prevent, detect, and treat deafness and hearing problems in more people than ever before.

2010 was not only a year of continuity and improvement in our four basic programs of Early Detection, Clinic, Hearing and Language Education and Social Work; CORAL also expanded its scope for serving people by training parents, teachers and health professionals working with hearing-impaired children from throughout the state to impart hearing and language rehabilitation therapy in their own homes and communities.

By incorporating a human rights focus this year, we are further helping our beneficiaries to take matters into their own hands and confront the social challenges that characterize their experiences with education, work, and healthcare.

Oaxaca´s diversity of ethnicities and medical traditions are being valued and incorporated through CORAL´s initiative for the construction of an inter-cultural model for attention to hearing loss - a collaboration among public, private, and community-based health practitioners.
